Symantec endpoint protection virus definitions not updating
As per my screenshot, I have done as you suggested. Is it safe to presume that I dont do the uninstall and reinstall of liveupdate then? Hopefully I will be able to get to the bottom of this quickly with your help.
How long does it normally take to distribute the updates to all the workstations? Kind regards, mustekkzn Symantec-Endpoint---Update. JPG Hi Pradeep Its been about an hour now since the update and I am still not having any luck what so ever.
[three dot] button” stated after the value located in “sem5_content” row and “Autogrowth” column * Set the “Restricted File Growth” value to let me say 40.000 MB (till next year 😉 ) Now feel free to run a Live Update session on SEPM console.
I wish this saves a few hours of you SEP experts/admins.
I don't think it is an issue of getting the virus definition. Well, first of all - this site is really not a substitute for the Symantec's techsupport.
If you have a support contract with them - I really suggest you contact them instead.
I tried to manually launch Live Update on SEPM various times, but no use, Every time update all other definitions excluding Antivirus updates.
After few minutes , it will automatically push the definition to SEPM console and it will be distributed to clients in few minutes, All of my clients (100 ) took about 20 minutes to update.
They call all ping the SEPM server but for some reason, some workstations are not getting the latest virus def. On the smc-server-0.log, I noticed a bunch of errors: SEVERE: Error while extracting full content under c:\program files\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\tomcat\..\inetpub\content\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxx\Full What else can I check to see what's causing the communication problems?See this article: Based on your first screenshot, it looks like you are receiving the latest virus definitions (the most current I believe is rev 124). Just a quick question, will this "error" show the " yellow" icon, instead of the normal green icon on users workstations?Symantec's work-around for right now is to leave the date on the file as 12/31/2009 and increment the rev #. I presume it would as this is how I noticed that there is a problem?Filed under: Symentec Related — Tags: Antivirus And Antispyware Protection, SEPM 11.0, Symantec Endpoin Protection.
